Ormond Beach Driving School, Driving Road Test

Our Ormond Beach driving school is the most convenient all in one place to practice driving

Take your road skills test and get your Florida drivers license. Our Ormond Beach driving school instructors help you to boost your skills and confidence while driving so you will pass the road skills test on the first try and get your drivers license. One of the most common questions we get asked about the road skills test is “what will they test me on?”.

It is important to know that the road skills test is not needed in order to obtain your Florida learners permit or restricted license. In order to get you learners permit you only need to to take a drug and alcohol traffic education course and a written DMV test. Both tests can be taken on your computer or here in our Ormond Beach driving school.

Take Your Behind the Wheel Test

An operators license is the Florida drivers license you get when you are ready to drive on your own – either after having a learners permit for a year or as an adult over 18. To get your operator’s license you will take a behind the wheel test and perform specific maneuvers. Note that you must bring your own car and it must be in good running condition.

Schedule Now
Below is a list of the maneuvers you will have to perform in Florida driving test:

Turn Around – Three Point Turn
Our instructors teach you how to turn you car around from one direction to another in a 30 to 40 foot area. This is most commonly known as a three point turn. We help train you for awareness and precision for this maneuver.

Shifting Gears Properly
If you have a manual shift car, you must be able to demonstrate that you can shift smoothly during the road test.

Parking in a Parking Lot
Demonstrate that you can park you car in a straight in parking spot. When you park the car, you should be centered between the line in the parking spot. In Florida there is no test on parallel parking but we still recommend that all drivers learn this skill.

Stop Your Vehicle Quickly
When you are driving at 20 MPH you will be expected stop quickly and safely when the examiner asks you to stop the car.

Backing Up
You will be asked to backup for roughly 50 feet at a slow speed. You should turn your head and look to the rear not use the rear view mirror or a camera.

Stop Signs
You will be expected to come to a complete stop and use your turn signals to indicate if you are turning. Then you are expected to proceed into the intersection only when it is safe.

Signal and Turn
Get into the correct lane and signal that you are turning for 100 feet before you turn.

Stay in the Correct Lane
Drive in the right lane except on a one-way street. Only change lanes if it is safe.
